We do not have an official application deadline, but we accept applications continuously throughout the year. This means that you can send your application at any time. Please note, however, that if you send your application very close to the semester start (1 August for the Fall term and 1 January for the Spring term), you may not have sufficient time to complete your admission process. You may also want to consider whether you need a visa to study in Germany, as you are going to need time for the visa procedure after you have secured admission (please see the visa-related questions in this FAQ list).
Can I ask for a pre-assessment of my documents?
Unfortunately, that is not possible. We only check documents uploaded as part of an application or sent via email after an application has been submitted. You can check for yourself on the (German) if the university where you have completed your bachelor’s degree is recognised in Germany.
The admissions team will carefully review your application and the documents submitted. If some of the required documents and test results (in short, requirements) are missing or unacceptable, you will receive a follow-up email. The follow-up email contains a detailed explanation of what documents and test results are still missing from your application, as well as helpful information about what tests are acceptable and how to take them.
Later, you will be contacted by one of our study advisors to schedule your individual selection interview. In most cases, you do not have to wait to submit all the missing requirements before your interview. However, in some cases, we will ask to submit the documents first (for instance, when information about undergraduate studies is lacking or missing). If your documents are already complete, you will be contacted directly by the study advisor.
You can look up the requirements for each of our programmes on our website. Our Master and MBA programmes require a valid bachelor’s degree (we ask you to submit a degree certificate and a transcript of records) that is recognised in Germany, proof of English-language proficiency (can vary depending on the track selected) and an admissions test (either GMAT, GRE, EBSgrad, BAT or CAT). For the MBA programme, we also require proof of relevant working experience.
It is recommended that you submit any missing required documents as soon as possible in order to speed up the process and account for the time needed for visa processing. If you need a visa, we suggest you complete your admission process at least two months before the start of your studies, or earlier if visa appointments are difficult to get in your country. If you need other documents (such as APS), please consider that in your planning as well.
The final deadline for submission is the 15th of the month in which your first semester begins (August for the Fall term and January for the Spring term). However, as classes start soon after that, we recommend submitting everything in advance. Please note that you cannot apply for a visa until you have received and signed your offer of admission. Therefore, it is in your own interest to send the missing required documents as early as possible if you are an international student.
Yes, you do. In order to receive your offer of admission and your study contract, you have to submit all the required documents and certificates. The only exception is your bachelor’s degree certificate in case you do not have one yet (i.e. because you are finishing your studies at the moment of your application). You can also submit it later. However, please note that it must be handed in before the end of your first semester of studies.
Yes, you do. You can start your visa application process as soon as you have paid the fees and have received the enrolment certificate.
Usually, the consulate will require proof that you have been officially admitted to a study programme and that you are all set to begin your studies in Germany. To support your visa application, you will receive from EBS Universität:
A certification of the Akademischen Prüfstelle (APS) is not an admission requirement to get admission to our programmes.
However, if you have completed your Bachelor´s degree in China, India or Vietnam, you will need to obtain the APS Certification in order to apply for your study visa in Germany. Please check the respective websites for more information:
